Cal/Mag/Zinc Complex is a bone and cardio health formula. It now features a form of calcium designed to make getting optimal amounts of this important bone health mineral easier. Di-calcium malate is easily absorbed and according to research, keeps calcium circulating in the body longer than other forms of supplemental calcium. This formula offers the highest yielding forms of calcium and magnesium resulting in fewer capsules required in a well-rounded mineral blend that includes zinc and boron.

Bone Health: Calcium is necessary for maintenance of bone strength as measured by bone mineral density (BMD). When calcium intake is inadequate, the body uses bone as a reservoir to maintain serum calcium levels. Magnesium is essential for the absorption of calcium, acts on crystal formation in bone cells, and impacts the activity of parathyroid hormone- a regulator of calcium homeostasis (3). 60% of the body’s magnesium is stored in bone. Magnesium deficiency results in lower BMD as magnesium is pulled out of bone for other biological functions.
Zinc has been demonstrated to have a stimulatory effect on bone formation and mineralization and to inhibit bone resorption (4) while boron plays a role in the formation of steroid hormones such as estradiol, supporting bone health by prevention of demineralization (6). Boron also increases the effectiveness of vitamin D in the body.
Cardio Health: Calcium is required for the critical metabolic functions of vascular contraction and vasodilation as well as muscle and nerve function critical to cardiovascular health.
Magnesium is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body, including muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, and blood pressure regulation. It maintains regular heartbeat and has been found to reduce cardiovascular disease risk (2).
Zinc appears to have protective effects for cardiac health. Zinc deficiency has been linked to many forms of heart disease, and replenishing zinc has been shown to improve cardiac function (5).

Chelating agents include: citric acid (corn fermentation), aspartic acid (chemical synthesis) and malic acid (chemical synthesis). Cellulose for capsules is derived from softwood tree pulp. All ingredients are vegan and non-GMO.
